Steps to Create Partition

Step 01 BackUp Your Data

Before making any change to your hard disk, it's crucial to back up your data. While creating partition is generally safe, It's better to safe than sorry. if this data loss while occur create partition on your hard disk, this data is not available to recover.


Step 02 Open Disk Management

On Windows, you can Open Disk Management by right-clicking on the Start Button and selecting "Disk Management". On macOS, use Disk Utility, which can be found in the Utilities Folder.

Or

Open the My PC and click on the "Manage". Then select the "Disk Management" under the Storage.


Step 03 Select the Hard Disk

Locate your hard disk in the Disk Management window. Be cautions not to select the wrong disk to avoid unintended data loss.

Step 4: Shrink the Existing Partition

To create a new partition, you'll need unallocated space. Right-click on the existing partition and choose "Shrink Volume." Enter the amount of space you want to allocate for the new partition. When entering in this way, we must enter in megabytes(MB), so always increase the corresponding amount by 1024 and give it. 

1024Mb = 1Gb

2048Mb = 2Gb

4096Mb = 3Gb

Step 5: Create a New Partition

Once you have unallocated space, right-click on it and select "New Simple Volume" on Windows or "Add APFS Volume" on macOS. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the process.

Step 6: Format the New Partition

After creating the partition, you'll need to format it. Right-click on the new partition and select "Format." Choose the file system (NTFS for Windows, APFS for macOS), assign a drive letter (on Windows), and complete the formatting.
